Sustainable kitchen tools

Describing triangle as a traditional company with vast experience in the production of professional kitchen tools would be correct, but would fall short. Triangle is also part of a changing society for which we feel responsible.

And so, we find ourselves in an interplay of quality, price expectations, and ethical and environmental correct action. Regionality, the manufactory concept, green electricity and the gradual abandonment of mineral oil-based plastics are only small steps towards a modern corporate management. But they are conscientious steps, steadily taken with the aim of living, working and consuming more consciously.

Our focus

Products of wood

Wood is the first, the most primitive and probably the most sustainable raw material for tools that humanity has ever used. It is warm, comfortable, pleasing to touch and, thanks to its antibacterial properties, is also very hygienic. For sustainable forestry and short transport routes, we use wood from German orchards and forests. The wood is turned in Germany, then finely processed in Solingen and assembled with our functional parts.

Renewable plastics

Plastic is light, hygienic and dishwasher-safe. Due to its tractability products can be produced that normally could not be made from other materials or only at much higher costs. Since we are aware of the ecological problems of petroleum-based plastics, we use alternative plastics whenever possible. We call these “GreenGrip”. For the Spirit series and other products we use plastic that consists of approximately 40% wood fibers and 60% recycled cooking oil. The wood fibers used come from FSC-certified waste from the paper industry. The extraction of the raw materials and the production steps take place in Europe. No palm oil is used. The ISCC Plus certification (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) makes the supply chain completely traceable.

Eco-friendly packaging

Packaging and its associated waste is a major problem of our time. Therefore, we try to make our cardboard boxes successively more practical, economical and, above all, plastic-free. Plastic inserts are replaced by paper inserts or tissue paper, packaging units are wrapped in packaging paper instead of cardboard boxes. Shipping packages are individually adapted to the size of the shipment and not just carelessly stuffed with filling material. We print on recycled paper. There is still a long way to go, but we are getting there.

Long service life

Short-term consumption and planned obsolescence have become a normality that we want to oppose. As early as during product development, we pay attention to high material quality, perfect function and timeless design to ensure a long service life and enjoyment of the product. Should parts ever wear out or be lost, replacement parts are available.

UPCYCLED products

Our triangle upcycled Antipasti Forks are real “Less Waste” products. They are made from the punched slots of our turners and thus use material that would otherwise have to be recycled and remelted.

The Antipasti Forks are ideal für little snacks like fries, pies, olives or cheese. Made from stainless steel, they are even more sustainable than their wooden counterparts as they are non-disposable and can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher.

UPCYCLED

Products made from production waste. Without energy-intensive recycling, just through clever design.

  1. When our turners are made, slots are punched out of the hardened blanks.
  2. Prongs are punched into the wide side of the punching scraps before we polish the edges to turn them into forks.

  1. A Antipasti Fork is produced.
  2. You enjoy your snack! The used cooking fat is later recycled.
  3. Instead of crude oil, we use this fat to produce plastic granulate.
  4. Our GreenGrip handles are made from this granulate. For example, for the Spirit turner!
